Marcia K. Salvary - Executive Director

Marcia joined Westside Pacific Villages (WPV) as Executive Director in June 2022. She is a seasoned executive in development, communications, marketing and operations with over 20 years of experience planning and executing comprehensive fund development, strategic planning, organizational development and marketing and communications campaigns across the nonprofit and social services sectors. Her expertise in fundraising, communications, branding, digital marketing and community relations has helped engage both media and public support for organizational strategic objectives.  Most recently, she served as Director of Development and Communications for The Achievable Foundation, an organization specializing in health care for individuals with disabilities. She led teams with kindness and compassion and is dedicated to promoting a workplace environment that encourages collaboration and optimizing team performance. Marcia has a passion for working with vulnerable populations, which includes the aging and youth.

Dawn Everard - Senior Programs Manager

Dawn Everard - Senior Programs Manager

Dawn joined the WPV staff team in April 2022.  After graduating with a BS in Business Administration with a Marketing Emphasis, Dawn began her marketing and management career at 20th Century Fox, working in the International Pay TV and Pay Per View divisions. From there she chartered into the non-profit sector at the Westchester YMCA where she married her love for fitness and community by teaching classes and building programming for youth, families, and the aging. While managing the Healthy Lifestyles and Membership departments, she connected with WPV to create collaborative programming focused on the health and well-being of community seniors. She enjoyed her experience as a WPV so much she decided to join the WPV team.

Elvy learned about WPV through a neighbor and started out as a volunteer.  She has loved being involved with WPV ever since and joined the staff in 2014.  As the primary contact for our members, Elvy enjoys talking with them to coordinate their transportation needs, friendly visits, errands and other service requests.  Elvy works closely with our volunteers to match their schedules and interests with client requests.  She also enjoys planning WPV social events.  Elvy and her family have been residents of Westchester for 20 years.  She enjoys entertaining, cooking, music, and movies.

Kathy has 20 years of Project Management experience and Finance and Sociology degrees from the University of Missouri.  She has been a resident of Westchester for 20 years and fell in love with WPV’s mission and began volunteering in February 2020.  She enjoys working with volunteer and client members to discover their own unique personalities and building caring relationships.  As a child her mother took her along on rides while doing Meals on Wheels, and this instilled in her the values to care for others, particularly older adults. She coordinates WPV’s special monthly deliveries, CAN (Call A Neighbor) Program and supports a variety of other WPV programs and operational duties.

Saralyn Durheim - Transportation Services and Office Administration Assistant

Saralyn came to the Westchester area to care for her grandfather, who was a resident of Westchester for 60+ years.  This gave her a unique insight into the needs of older adults and a deeper understanding of the changes involved in aging.  After her grandfather passed, she decided to stay in the area and became a WPV volunteer in July 2019.  Saralyn is WPV’s transportation services and office administration assistant, providing transportation and other client services, and assists with general office duties. Saralyn enjoys playing tennis, bike riding and bird watching.

Carin Mavrosakis - Chair

Carin Mavrosakis is a Director of Compensation, Talent Development and Training and Learning at Toyota North America with 20 years of corporate business experience as a Human Resources Professional. Carin has a passion for volunteering and helping those in need.  She volunteers often through Toyota in her local community, mentoring underprivileged youth and has a passion for the caring of seniors in her family and community.  Carin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Cal State Long Beach; she is a Texas/California native with her husband and two sons.
Ed Rodriquez - Treasurer

Ed Rodriquez - Treasurer

Ed is a Certified Public Accountant, whom has been practicing in Playa Del Rey for over 25 years. He is currently a principal in the CPA firm of Stump Davis Greenberg. He has been a past board member of the Southwest Explorer Scouts, Westchester YMCA, and LAX-Westchester Chamber of Commerce. He is a past officer and current member of the Westchester Rotary Club.

Carol Kitabayashi - Secretary

Carol Kitabayashi - Secretary

Carol served as WPV’s Executive Director for 10+ year from 2011 to 2021.  During that time, she was instrumental in helping the organization establish roots, grow, expand, and flourish. She developed the WPV CARES (COVID-19 Action Response for Elder Support) Program that ran for nearly 2 years during the pandemic.  Over 200 WPV clients received much needed support and assistance from over 300 volunteers through this free program.  Carol has also helped other villages get started in the L.A. County area and has been a strong advocate for the village model nationally.  She serves on the Board of Directors for Village Movement California, a statewide coalition of villages dedicated to bringing visibility to the benefits and value of villages.  Carol and her husband are long-time residents of both the Westchester and Culver City area.

Marcia Findley - Member

Marcia is a retired librarian from Loyola Marymount University who received her MLS from Florida State University, and her BA from the University of Oklahoma. Other positions in her career were at the University of Notre Dame, Auburn University, Spring Hill College, and two U.S. Army post libraries in Mainz, Germany.  She is a 31 year resident of Westchester and one of the founding WPV Board Members.

Lee Gardner - Member

Degree in Political Science from Whittier College then joined VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America, the domestic Peace Corps) and was assigned to Idaho Legal Aid Services in Boise as a paralegal and community organizer. He worked 34 years advocating for reform of Idaho’s landlord/tenant laws, public utility regulations, health care issues, hunger public policies, and women’s rights. He then worked for the law firm of Susan M. Graham providing bookkeeping and paralegal services to her family law/estate planning practice. He moved back to Westchester in 2006 to care for his father so he could remain at home, before passing in 2011. Lee is a native of Southern California and currently serves on the Governing Boards of the Westchester Family YMCA and the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Freddi Segal-Gidan - Member

Freddi Segal-Gidan - Member

Freddi is a physician assistant and gerontologist who has devoted her career to health care for older adults. She is currently director of the Rancho/USC California Alzheimer’s Disease Center and holds appointments as assistant clinical professor, Departments of Neurology and Family Medicine in the Keck School of Medicine, USC, and assistant clinical professor of gerontology at the L. Davis School of Gerontology at USC. Dr. Segal-Gidan has been in clinical practice for over 30 years, mostly caring for older adults. She received her physicians assistant (PA) training at Johns Hopkins University Health Associate Program, BA in psychology-biology from Reed College, and her doctorate in Gerontology – Public Policy as part of the inaugural doctorate class in gerontology from the USC L. Davis School of Gerontology.
