From there she chartered into the non-profit sector at the Westchester YMCA where she married her love for fitness and community by teaching classes and building programming for youth, families, and the aging. While managing the Healthy Lifestyles and Membership departments, she connected with WPV to create collaborative programming focused on the health and well-being of community seniors. She enjoyed her experience as a WPV so much she decided to join the WPV team.

Elvy Crane - Client/Volunteer Services Manager
Elvy learned about WPV through a neighbor and started out as a volunteer. She has loved being involved with WPV ever since and joined the staff in 2014. As the primary contact for our members, Elvy enjoys talking with them to coordinate their transportation needs, friendly visits, errands and other service requests. She has been a resident of Westchester for 20 years and fell in love with WPV’s mission and began volunteering in February 2020. She enjoys working with volunteer and client members to discover their own unique personalities and building caring relationships. As a child her mother took her along on rides while doing Meals on Wheels, and this instilled in her the values to care for others, particularly older adults. She coordinates WPV’s special monthly deliveries, CAN (Call A Neighbor) Program and supports a variety of other WPV programs and operational duties.

Saralyn Durheim - Transportation Services and Office Administration Assistant
Saralyn came to the Westchester area to care for her grandfather, who was a resident of Westchester for 60+ years. After her grandfather passed, she decided to stay in the area and became a WPV volunteer in July 2019. Saralyn is WPV’s transportation services and office administration assistant, providing transportation and other client services, and assists with general office duties.
